All you need is love

Hello everybody !

I’m back from a four months break from the blog and I’m happy to blog again and show you these portraits I did last August.

It was a nice end of late afternoon summer day, a gentle breeze was blowing and a perfect summer evening was about to begin.  A field of goldenrod and a barn was all I needed to capture the love flowing between these two beautiful souls.

Joël and Audrey-Anne

Shooting portraits in natural light without flash or reflectors is always a challenge.  I definitely need a reflector to have better light.  Light in portraits is so important.  It’s so much better to have a good exposure in-camera than trying to fix it later.  I had fun doing this shooting and I would really love to do one in Winter next time I see them, and, of course,  also with my muse, Fanny.

A beautiful week to all of you !

  1. Wonderful work as always Jocelyne🙂 You have a variety of talents with photography, from people portraits, to nature, to landscape and of course still life. You have a real skill for capturing your subjects emotions visually and I think your lighting worked out well. If you didn’t mention that I wouldn’t have known you were having any issues with lighting. Beautiful🙂

  7. Dear Jocelyne, It is lovely to see you here after such a long absence. In these portraits, you have beautifully captured the sun’s radiance and that of your young subjects. The photos affirm your quest to discover the light in everyone, in every situation. My very best to you, Vivian

Hi Vivian🙂 It’s so nice to see you here, thank you so much for the great comment.
If I could capture, even just a little, the light coming from the heart of these beautiful souls,
then I can say these portraits were a success. Thanks again Vivian and I wish you a wonderful Holiday season 🙂

Hello, Jocelyne. How wonderful to see a post! These photos are stunning! You’ve captured the love and the tenderness beautifully, and the lighting is excellent. I am a huge fan of outdoor lighting in portraiture. You captured the atmosphere wonderfully! Well done!

    • Jocelyne says:

Hi Jenna ! I much prefer outdoor lighting for portraits than in a studio. I think the possibilities are endless to find a great location to do the shooting. I’ve been doing them mostly in fields with barns and now I would love to do one in a big city ! I hope it will be possible next time I go to Montreal. Thank you so much for the very nice comments, they’re always very much appreciated🙂

  9. Wonderful images Jocleyne with the soft light adding a tenderness to the work. Glad to have you back in the blogging world and I do hope all is well. Have a wonderful and Happy Christmas and may the New Year bring you joy and good health.
