From me to you…

My dear friends,

#Christmas #Noël #Christmas decorations #Décorations noël

As I visit your blogs and discover new ones I am delighted by the talents you all have, whether it be photography, writing or drawing to name a few.  We have blogs in part because we have this need to share what we love with other people.  Sharing is innate in us and part of human nature.  But what impresses me most is the spontaneity of your friendship, of your kindness that you give so generously in your comments and that is what I hold most dear in my blog.  I would love to visit each one of you more often than I do, there is so much to see, so many interesting posts.  I do my best, if only days could be longer…

So, dear friends, I come today to wish you a wonderful holiday season and a beautiful Christmas surrounded by those you love.  And I hope the new year will bring you inspiration, awe, peace, joy and love in your hearts and maybe even see a few of your dreams come true.

It was fun taking these photos with my little Winny, but I’m not sure he had as much fun as I did…

Safe travels to all of you who will take the road on Christmas and New Year’s day.  I will be traveling to Montreal on New Year’s eve to celebrate with my family.

Have a beautiful end of week everybody 🙂

p.s.  I’m not sure if it’s my computer or a problem with WordPress, but in a lot of blogs some photos appear either like little thumbnails or much too big instead of the right size.  If it happens here, just refresh the page until the photos return to their normal size.

Tis the season to be jolly !

Hello dear friends !

I love Christmas and all the wonderful things that come with it :  The decorations ( I have three Christmas tree in my home !), the parties, the food, the gifts.  But there’s also all these things that looks rather pretty ordinary but that are, to me, an important part of Christmas.  I can’t imagine Christmas without movie nights  in the comforts of home.  We watch a movie every night, including movies of Astérix et Obélix  🙂  There’s also the wine and cheese dinners with just the two of us, the baking of pierogis, stuffed grape leaves, shortbread and doughnuts while listening to Christmas carols.  And I love taking walks in my neighbourhood with my little Winny to see the Christmas lights.  Yes, these are simple things, but they are part of my Christmas and I wouldn’t change a thing.

I’m still waiting for my camera to return, so I took these photos using a point and shoot set on manual and that’s about the best I could get out of this camera.  It’s definitely not the same quality I’m used to with my Pentax K5, I’m sure you’ll notice, but it’s better than nothing !  So here are a few photos that were inspired from the spirit of the season.

The Christmas spirit

Hello everyone !

First, I would like to thank everyone who shared my posts on facebook and twitter, these social networks help a lot to get known, so a big thank you to all of you ! I appreciate it.

Christmas.  What a wonderful time of year it is.  I have always loved Christmas, not for religious reasons, I admit, but for the many little things that are part of the season’s spirit.  For me, December is the only month of the year when I slow things down.  I don’t train, I don’t watch saturated and trans fats, I drink wine more often, I go shopping more often, even if I don’t have anything to buy but just for the pleasure of having my scone and Van Houtte coffee (no Starbuck’s in my town 😦   ) and enjoying the ambiance.  I take longer walks with Winny and I do less house cleaning.  I allow myself to relax.

What I really enjoy during the holidays is watching Christmas movies on television. When I decorate the tree I put on my favorite Christmas movie “Home Alone : Lost In New-York”  There are so many fun things to do during the holidays.  There are Christmas concerts, the Nutcracker ballet, the Christmas parade, and when I lived near Montreal I would go window-shopping downtown to see the beautiful store displays.

All the stores are filled with goodies and it’s a real treat for me to go to my favorite coffee shop and have some eggnog.

Last year, on December 29, we had the most extraordinary one and a half hour sleigh ride in the fields and woods of a private land in St-Anges.  What a beautiful name for a small village, St-Anges.  We were pulled by two big Percherons , a Dalmatian was running with them and had great fun !  It’s a memory I will cherish forever, it was so beautiful !

These things are all part of the season, as the decorations in our homes, and I hope you can capture the spirit of the season from my home decorations pictures.

(Don’t look at the village under the tree, it’s not finished ! lol)

I wish you the most happiest of holidays and the most wonderful time with your family and friends. These are special times to cherish and everlasting memories to behold.

Take care

Jocelyne
